It has been a long time, but I'm sure it will be well worth it in the end. Can't wait to get the new volume...

Cheers,
Mario

Can't wait and very happy that the AMX 30 is in there. Of course we will immediately start begging for the next axis one!

Me too, I'm also doing a special companion article for Brett Green and his magazine Model Military International using the MENG AMX-30B. Should be good fun!

And yes, I am actually OK with that! I've been hard at TA 4 German Armor.

Well, my preorder has been in since this was announced, so I very much look forward to this. And will have a review up here probably 2 days after it arrives! I confess I am really looking forward to the techniques for multi-colored camouflage this time around. One request I might make is if you ever do a 1939-1940 French tank that would be lovely. I ask because the paint schemes are extremely colorful (they use lilac and sky blue, for heaven's sake!) and in my hands they get dull and far less interesting once the weathering starts.

Steven Zaloga did a this lovely one: but you get the idea on the vibrancy of the colors.

Oh and I am very glad not to see a bunch of sand colored models in the book. I know it's where modern armor has been most used in battle the past 25 years but gahhhhh it's boring!

Well there's a couple in Sand for sure, but I did try to spread it out, and Andy's exceptional MT-LB is Iraqi. It was part of the reason I added the AMX-30B in 3-tone NATO and the T-72B in overall green to add more balance.

There will be more camo scheme variety in the next Modern Armor release too. Soooo many schemes to paint! Plus the vast array of kits is really helping. Expect Vietnam, MERDEC, and many others to follow. Same with the other TA books in fact, I really am just getting starting, and want to cover more schemes with each release. That's always been a part of the books' goals and intentions. I've partnered with MENG and AFV Club, so I'm super excited where this is all going! Like seriously excited.

To that end - TA 3 MODERN ARMOR UPDATE

Looking forward to reading it, Mike. Given Trumpy's announcement of an MT-LB it's really going to be even more worthwhile down the road. Keep up the good work!
