Hi,
Just noticed that M47's used two different drive sprockets. Anything I should know about before I start on my kit?
Thank you,
P.N.

I've never started my kit so I can't answer your question. But for inspiration and reference, there are tons of pics on the web of surviving M47s.

What is different about them that you noticed? Can you provide some examples?

In photobucket there are four tabs or links with each photo. You can copy the "direct link" link and post it.

The first one (with the flutes) is a forged example made by Chrysler while second plain one is made from plate. If you are certain your tank was made by Chrysler Detroit Tank Arsenal I would use the fluted design. If it was made by ALCo, I would use the plate. The pieces were interchangeable, so after a time you could rightfully see either type.
