This was a very enjoyable kit; more involved than the D9 but it had a few minor annoyances. First, the hinges for the rear door and engine cover are inadequately engineered and broke, but the hatch hinges work well. The fit of the turret to the hull is slightly troublesome as well, as are knockout marks inside the turret basket inside and out. Also as you can see the suspension (torsion bars) are not adequate to hold the weight of the model and will need to be glued in place. Other than that, a dream to build, great detail, a great way to learn about the vehicle. The tracks were very well done and easy to build/use. Meng has become the Rolls Royce of plastic models; kudos to them.

Looks good Bill. What is that you have sitting on the ramp?

Strong work on the Brad, been plugging away at mine. I feel your pain re. the hinges, mine didn't break - yet now I'm going to be even more careful. Cary, what you're seeing is one of the AirCon units, the angle of the camera is just making it look like it's on the ramp.

Cary, I don't have a good shot of the back, but those AC units are works of art; they have two layers of PE in them and they look very realistic. They're big, too; I'm guessing its a pretty comfortable ride inside there.

What a beauty! Your build just moved my purchase date to the top of my list. Are those interior stencils I spy?

One Question: Could it be build without the ERA blocks?

Okay: Matt, all those wonderful interior decals/stencils come with the kit. They're legible, and the decals work very well. There are more decals than you think as there are about 30 'pinch point' decals for ERA blocks on the outside. Hans, the answer is no, but. I think they will be coming out with a non-ERA version. The hood has nonskid surface totally hidden by the ERA, and you have to drill holes to mount the ERA. They will need other side skirts but I think more versions of this puppy are in the cards for the Meng-meisters.

Thanks Bill,
I plan building one A3 of the EAS in Grafenwöhr. Would be cool if someone will release the new track with detachable rubber pads.
