Thanks Marco. The type of film I've heard of being used doesn't have an adhesive backing. I'll have to check again at my local drafts store.

On my RG-31, I'm using Tamya clear green mixed with a little clear blue and even less clear yellow for 50% of the mix and Tamiya thinner for the other 50%. The thinner is very important. Airbrushing in thin layers on the inside of the windows is the way to go. Adding the blue and yellow makes the tint less green, lightens it up a bit and adds a touch of blue tint to it. I think it looks quite realistic. I'm also using the black Sharpie trick around the edges. It all seems to be working fine and I'll post some pictures over on my Canadian RG-31 work in progress thread, hopefully tonight.

@Cary: I'll try tonight. I get the film at an automotive shop around here. I never use something like that.
@Bob: Thank you man! I saw your RG, it looks fantastic. I think my problem with Tamiya is the thinner (I used to use isopropol).
