I just want to ask, if you have an advice for a Olive Drab colour? I know that there were long discussions and that maybe the most realistic colour is Tamiya XF-62.

Of course the scale effect have to consider which means that I have to add either buff or dark yellow (Tamiya) to the Olive Drab.

But is by this time an alternative to the XF-62 on the market (MIG, AK, Lifecolors, etc)?

Hi Moritz.. It is true that Tamiya's OD is the most accurate but I must admit that it finishes quite dark and in 1/35th scale it's hard to get the effect that I know you're looking for .. I usually lighten it up with dark yellow but you can add some yellow green to the mix which creats a different effect. You can add a bit of Olive green to the mix if you are looking for the green look.
But if you want to try something else ..You've got lots of choices out there ... Life color, ModelMaster, Gunze, and even a set from AK to modulate your OD if that's the way you want to go .. I think the best thing is to try as many different types as you want and go with what pleases your eye..

And yes, that was my problem!!! The OD XF-62 is too dark!

Two US vehicles need his paint so that this is an exelenct chance for some experiments

Stevens article is an old one, Tamyia has changed the reciepe for XF-62 in the past, so mixing some Dark Yellow with it isn't the best option anymore.

Try Lifecolor U.S. Olive Drab set with different shades (my favortit), or the olive drab colors from AK, Vallejo and Modelmaster.

The Lifecolor-set looks interesting, especially after I had many trouble with AK and MIG colors!!!
