Hi,
something weird happened to 2 of my kits lately. I had painted my Tamiya Famo with Tamiya acrylics and gave it the usual oil paint wash, which was made from oil paint and white spirit. I have been doing this for many years and I had no issues whatsoever. But I found out that the whole kit had cracked. The paint did not come loose, but there were cracks in the plastic everywhere. I thought it happened maybe becaue it was an old kit, but today I was doing the same thing on a Tamiya T-72 and some suspension arms just broke in two (not at the glue joint). I am clueless...

Hi Mat,
As you have noticed, it can destroy plastic, you are not the first person that had experienced this, so avoid using it on a model at all cost.
For thinning oils use lighter fluid i.e. Ronsonol, it does not attack pant nor plastic and evaporates very quickly.
HTH
Cheers,
Greg
