I don't see many rushing out to buy this one at that that price. $127.00 = £75 plus, not really value for money in the static model world of injection molded kits.

Seems a bit of a rip off, or am I missing something?

I have seen the pre-order price overseas at about $60.

That sounds a bit more realistic.

It says the motor is included. I would hope/guess that a boxing without the motor will also be offered, as that might be the price difference.

Here we go again. Tamiya is going to release a kit with a motor! It's the 70's revisited. I hope your right russamotto and they off the kit without. Even still I hope it's a typo on the price. Your right PantherF I don't pay MSRP as I get the bro deal from cousins hobby shop. It pays to know people in the wholesale business

I know we probably won't be paying MSRP, but what the heck are they thinking with that price?? Has Tamiya gone completely insane? There is no way a plastic kit with no PE, no interior, or any other remarkable "extras" should be that expensive...

127 USD = 93 Euro
The Tamiya M1A2 SEP TUSK sell here for around 70 - 72 Euro.
But I has a lot of stuff to build.

So short sighted. I have seen this in person (Test Shot) and it is brilliant. It doesn't have parts for parts sake, desn't has miniscule parts too small to work with and has stunning detail in the flesh. I cannot vouch for accuracy but the kit looks brilliant. I will certainly be getting one of these AND the Takom examples. Now, if someone will just do a Mk I by 2016 I will be happy

Well, not seeing Takom's offerings yet in anything but CAD form it's hard to judge them against this. but I have took the chance to pre-order them. With the 25% off deal I get both male & female for less than the Tamiya...hmmmm

Tamya's price being the main put off until I saw this shot. I had imagined things like vision slots to be open not recesses and the track tensioners to be better portrayed with separate adjusters, these appear to be moulded into the sides like Emhar's are. Now I'd expect that from an Emhar Kit but not the big T. The individual track links are a must but the gaps between links.... really? No way.

However I'll wait and see when better images come to light.

I thought it might be a good idea to add a motor for the kids taking one of the models at home after visiting a museum e.g. .

Just adding new blood to the scene and generate the modellers of tomorrow...

But with these prices they will stay on their videogames ...

"Numerous road wheels, idler wheels and drive sprockets are accurately captured with hassle-free assembly."

lol, yeah, we have seen their kit of British bike with hassle-free assembly...
toys, not models...

Takom kits are based on a very thorough research. I know the person involved in the process.

$127.00USD..? About a month ago, we were batting around a (projected price) $35-$40 kit... Aside of 87,000 wheels, this tank kit is mainly comprised of flat panels. I can't see how TAMIYA could price this thing that high. I can almost see TAMIYA's high pricing for their 1/32 aircraft- that's why I build 1/48 aircraft for a fraction of the cost.

Let's see how much the TAKOM Mk.IV kits will cost...

So far the Takom kit is going for $57. I am sure Tamiya's kit will be very nice. But 200% better than Takom? I think not. . .
