I've been searching unsuccessfully on the net for some pics of the top of an M109 Doher turret as I am looking for the correct colours to paint the tools mounted there.
These consist of pick axe handle, mallet, axe and gun cleaning rods. Oh, and the pick blades on the side.
Are they natural bare wood handles with natural metal parts or are they painted the same colour as the vehicle? Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Here's where I'm at with my interpretation of a Doher before and after paint....
AFV Club base kit with Legend conversion set. Lifecolor Israeli Sandgrey paint and Bison decals.

All the gun cleaning rods are bare metal (like a flat aluminium colour). Can't say on the tools - some users paint theirs others leave them bare. I hope this helps if only a little.
Best regards
