Sadly, dear readers, my admiration for all things undead has suffered a serious setback since seeing World War Z. The spark of interest is no longer there - apart from a reasonably satisfying 4th Season of Walking Dead...
Saying that, these look pretty impressive
Drop WW Z the movie and pick up WWZ the book. Max Brooks Zombie Survival Guide is a fun read too.
WWZ the book is worldwide in scope (actually bigger than that, but it makes sense and no spoilers) , dozens and dozens of characters, many/most who never interact w each other. No 'insta-zombie, just add bite'. But you do get The Battle of Newark, Chinese nuculear submarines Russian tanks and survivors on the steppes.. awesomeness! Indian army squares. Some character 'development' and better yet, NO CURE!
And all in all an IMPOSSIBLE movie to make.
So why try..
From the minute I heard Brad Pitt (and his fabulous hair) would not be messily eaten onscreen, I was unimpressed. When the teenagers wanted to watch, I sat in. During and after I was even less so. Bus lane plot holes.. arrrggghhh...
Continuing to prove the rule: A Great Book is always made into crappy movie.
If only my figure painting skills were up to the challenge...
