Nice foursome of WWI Germans. Good to see several kits coming out of late, long neglected, IMHO.
ICM, MiniArt and Master Box have really matured in this product line. All of them have improved the quality of their figures and are right behind Dragon. These figures will look great crossing a battered field or ruins of a French village. I will have to order a set or two when available.
Nicely done, ICM

This 'golden age' of modeling is getting more glittery! These are fresh new quality subjects.

More good news, these look excellent. Hats off to ICM for what I'm sure will be a great set of figures.

Hopefully their British set won't be too far behind.

So that's the difference between WWI and WWII. The Germans didn't point at every damned thing in sight. Lot of WWI stuff, mainly figures, coming out in the last few months. Kind of surprised there aren't as many resin options but ICM, MasterBox and MiniArt seem to be doing a pretty good job.

Oh, how good are these....! Let's hope there is a 'part 2' with rifleman in firing poses, lying prone, MG crew etc. Thank you ICM, will be buying lots of these to make a dio with the French line infantry.
Yes Chris you are right, really only Masterclub resin WW1 figs in 1/35th scale.

Awesome looking set. These will be useful for Franco-Prussian War conversions as well.

I've just finished doing a review of their Austro-Hungarian set and the quality of the figures is excellent, really 1st class.

The weapon sets are equally impressive and what is great about these chaps are the pike helmets. The poses on these guys look excellent too.

With Russians, Germans, French, Austro-Hungarians and British sets out or to come ICM have certainly filled a major gap in the 1/35 scale WW1 market.

Happy days.

I wonder how feasible it would be to use this figure set along with the ICM German Assault figure set.

Hi Alex,

Should be no problem, follow up infantry. You could switch the helmets if need be from the ICM German Weapons and Equipment set.

Thanks Alan. I hadn't even thought about the ICM weapons and equipment set. My Great War Campaign Dio might be getting a face-lift of sorts.

Hi Alex,

They should fit well following up behind or mixed in amongst the others.

Cheers

Are these one-piece figures as opposed to ICM's # 35291 German Assault Troops which have separate arms, legs, equipment etc.?
I suppose it is feasible to modify these figures to compliment the assault troops in a diorama. I have a set of the assault troops and they all seem to be wearing the grey-green 1915 pattern bluse (1916-18). This set should be wearing the 1910/07 pattern (1910-15) tunic. This can be modified in 1/35 scale to simulate the field grey Transitional tunic by trimming off the cuff and skirt scallops and buttons and filling in part of the cuff with some kind of putty (because the later cuff was deeper than the earlier one) and cutting off the picklehaube (spiked helmet) and adding a stalhelm ( 1916/18 steel helmet). The leather gear (ammo pouches, belt, boots, shovel carrier) will remain the same although by 1917 they were starting to dye them black. For some added color the flap of the back pack (tornister) was cow hide with the hair still on it, mostly a lot of brown/white combos. It is nice to see WWI (or WKI) getting the attention it deserves in the modelling world.

Hi Erwin,

Based on the recent releases they will likely be separate parts.

Then there should be some room for modification for mid or late war figures, especially with all the parts sets being introduced. And one could also dip into the parts stash for arms, heads etc. that could be modified as needed.
I just noticed that their bayonets are the early 98aA long types rather than the later 98/05 "butcher bayonet" type, which shouldn't be too hard to fix for late war dioramas.

Depending upon location and time period both helmet types could be seen in action.

I found this site interesting
