Gents,

I could use your assistance. Have the PanzerArt Saukopf Mantlet for StuG III/IV (RE35-024) and intent to use it on a Tamiya 35197 StuG III but having conceptual issues how to make it fit properly. I was hoping some expert could lend me their knowledge. Thanks in advance!

Erik

I've never used those. Do you have some photos of the item you could post. That might help with being able to give advice on the fitting of this item. Thanks.

Maybe this page will help you out:

Armorama::Network Talk::Practice Page for Posting Photos

Posting up photos here is actually pretty easy once you see what the steps are. You can do it from either the Kitmaker Network Gallery or from a third party photo hosting site like Photobucket, Flkr, or Snap Fish.

Photos really do help in asking for questions or trying to provide answers.

Welcome to the forums and Happy modeling,

What? Is the inside of the Saukopfblend mantlet molded solid? Your pics are a little out of focus. If so, you'll have to cut down the Tamiya piece to fit.

This is what you're talking about:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-35-PANZER-ART-RE35-024-SAUKOPF-MANTLET-w-CAST-MARKS-for-GERMAN-StuG-III-IV-/130774756451?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item1e72c86c63

Yeah, it's cheaper to pour them that way... we have to then drill it out. Start out with a small pilot hole and from there work up to the desired size. With resin, do not try to cut it all at once or it will crack.

If you're in serious doubts about doing this, send it to me. I have a drill press and for the cost of postage it can be done in one day.

What's wrong with the Tamiya mantlet ? Areyou going for an after market barrel , because if you are hold off on drilling until you get the gun barrel .

thanks to everyone for replying. I would be thrilled to send you the part and any postage costs for your help.

Let me know the best means of trading addresses/numbers.

Thanks also to the members with photo advice.

Finally, the Tamiya mantlet is an "early" type. Im converting into a late version (and yes I've changed the rollers, etc )
