not sure if this is the right group to post this in or should I post this in allied ww2 forum?
I would like to build a panther is post ww2 service , I know they used about 50 in the time frame of around 1947 and have a number of questions
1. Paint scheme used on the french panthers, camo or one color?
2. french marking in that time frame ?
looked all over online but really couldnt find any thing that was helpful
Any help will be greatly appreciated

This is quite timely as I've always had a hankering to do one of these.

I've always assumed that they were resprayed olive drab but any confirmation would be welcome. I also thought that perhaps the MG34s (both co-ax and hull) might be replaced with .30 Brownings. Does anyone know?

Regards,

Brian

The Panther pictured in my post probably belonged to the 503eme Régiment de Chars de combat which had about 15 Panthers until 1952( along with ARL 44's), when they were replaced by M47's.

Does anyone know where all these Pathers went after the French stopped using them? Were they scrapped? I'm guessing a couple went to museums, but what about the rest?

Cheers!

According to one post on this forum : http://www.colleurs-de-plastique.com/forums/showthread.php?40181-le-Panther-de-Mourmelon-%E0-l-aide-!/page3

the Panthers of the 503eme were painted olive green (lighter than the US Olive Drab)...

I guess most of them were scrapped. IIRC, one can be found in the Wheatcroft Collection.
