A 'newbie' build or more accurately, my first serious attempt at building a plastic kit for over 40 years.

The rear chassis and axles where straight forward enough.

Had some problems with the steering linkages as it's not clear from the instructions exactly how they should be positioned. Did'nt help that I glued the hubs to the axles upside down!

Lost a very small engine part to the carpet monster, not that its absence is noticeable. The PE fan belts are a bit novel, in fact this is the first time I've encountered metal parts in a plastic kit.

Assembly of the device on the right hand side of the dash board was quite fiddly and made up of many tiny parts. Not sure that I got it right.

Cab and spare wheel holder in place and some more PE. One of the breather pipes on the back of the cab wouldn't fit where indicated in the instructions so I ended up cutting it down.

More to follow........

Thanks for looking.

First of all, WELCOME aboard the Big A! If you ever have any questions feel free to contact me. Looks like you have the posting images thing down which is what newcomers struggle with at first.

Please, show me how this build is done! Yours is looking good so far!! I stopped on step number 10 and cannot re-engage on the build. It's entered in the "Extreme Trucks Campaign" and should be completed before August.

Thanks for sharing your build and keep us posted!

I've now completed the kit. A few pics of the finished article.

Construction was reasonably straight forward but gave up on some of the very small parts which ended up lost or impossible to pick up and glue in place. During handling I lost one door handle and one grab handle from the side of the cab due to my own clumsiness.
A PE part at the rear of the chassis involved quite a bit of bending to the correct form. I don't think I got it right as it didn't want to fit properly.
The instructions where generally good but a little vague in one or two areas.
All in all I enjoyed this project and yeah, I think I'm hooked
