Hi all

This is my version of AFV Club's M730A2 Chaparral in fireing position. I haven't seen many chaparrals built on the forum,
perhaps a little strange as the vehicle is quite strikeing with its armament of MIM-72/AIM-9 Sidewinders.

The kit is built out of the box with added antennas and Archer decals.
The M730 is painted in Winter MERDC using Gunze/Tamiya and were weathered with oil paints and Humbrol enamels.

Kind regards
/Tomas

Nice work Tomas. As you say, not a subject seen in model form often.

Question. What are the 3 frame type things on the front? Are they some type of tarp frame?

Very nice work, Tomas. My first assignment in the Army was as a Chaparral platoon leader in 'D' Btry. 1/68 ADA at Fort Hood, TX way back in '78. You've captured the look of the MERDC scheme perfectly. I have one in my stash that I need to build and this inspiring!
Gary, you are correct about the bows on the front. They are for the canvas that goes over the rear deck and launch station. In the year I was there, we never used ours.

Great looking model, and as an old Commo guy I have to say the antennas look perfect

Great work! I've had that kit in my stash forever. Maybe I should break it out.

Very nice Tomas. Nice to see somebody tackle this one for once.
