If anyone hasn't heard, Joe Bakanovic of The New TMD has a new resin set available. It's a DAK Tiger I conversion for use with either Dragon's 6252 or 6600 kits. Using this set with either kit, you'll be able to model any individual Tiger I's in Tunisian service. I just received mine about twenty minutes ago; and, let me tell you, this is a really great looking set. The parts are cleanly cast with crisply molded details throughout. If you can, order one. You won't be disappointed.* Check it out at DAK Tiger I Conversion

*Disclaimer:

I am not a compensated spokesperson. I only portray one in ambulance chaser ads. I am, however, an extremely satisfied customer.

I really need a set of those early Feifels to get my Das Reich Tiger going again!!!! Hurry up Joe and start selling them separately .. How cool is this and it might just get Dragon to re-release their African Tiger kit (with something different so as to say it's not the same kit..DS tracks maybe?) You never know!

I think we can safely assume that Dragon will stay with DS tracks for Tigers in the foreseeable future.

A tad OT: You know how memories are associated with various sensory stimuli such as sight, sound, taste, etc.? Well, upon opening 6600, I opened up the plastic envelope containing the DS tracks. There was something familiar about the odor coming from the tracks; but, I couldn't put my finger on it. Then, it came to me. Creepy Crawlers! If any of you are old enough, you might remember that Mattel used to market a product called Creepy Crawlers back in the 60's and early 70's. You poured a liquid plastic, fittingly called Plasti-Goop

into metal molds

which were placed in a ThingMaker,

heated until the Plasti-Goop solidified and you ended up with

DS Tracks smell just like Creepy Crawlers. Ergo, DS Tracks are made from Plasti-Goop.
