I have been plugging away slowly with the help of Jason Miller from Arms Corps Models to represent an ASLAV PC in Iraq during OP Catalyst using the new Trumpeter Kit. The kit is fine for a basic ASLAV PC however I am not too impressed with some of the less refined detail. I have been following Jason's fantastic build review, found here

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/10136

, as a guide as well as the sacred ASLAV Bible, MB4 by John Myszka and reference found on Prime Portal.

The ASLAV PC I want to represent is RECON REDNECK.

I have spent a lot of time scratch building parts that I wanted to enhance the detail and that was needed like the ramp bar armor.

Other things that I have done is completely redo the side Jerry rack to make it correct.

I have other corrections that need to be done on my list, like correct engine deck mesh as well as many others. I will endeavour to upload more photo's next weekend. In the meantime happy modelling to all.

Thanks for the feedback Guys. Sorry I didn't get to update last weekend but work and family have been keeping me busy.

I have reached a point where I am now ready to start priming, applying the anti-slip (I am using the MIG anti-slip paste, never tried it before) and then start painting and weathering it. Nearly all the sub assemblies are done. It's just a matter of post paint assembly. I still need to put some individual footman loops on but I will do that after the anti-slip has been done. I have done a dry fit today, at work as it is pretty quiet.

I redid the ramp bar armor, now I am much happier with this effort.

That ramp bar armor is far better than the first one
Good for you to go for the extra mile there, I know how hard it is to redo something you've alrady scratched!

BTW, what mesh did you use for the engine grill?

Hi Hugo. Thanks for the feedback. sorry for the late reply. The mesh I used for the engine deck is from Alliance Model Works. I used the .45mm square one.
