An announcement from Meng has another Bradley joining the list, this time with BUSK, and a separate interior detail set.

The previous Bradley included the interior; will this one come sans interior? I notice Meng's first FT-17 had an interior, but not their second. Is this a trend?

The previous Meng Bradley also included the BUSK III armor... The difference is that this time it is M3A3 Cavalry FV, while the previous one was M2A3 Infantry FV.

Bill, The interior is not included, but offered as a separate set. Very wise decision in my opinion.

Hi Bill. To clarify, both Mengs FT-17's have fighting compartment interiors, the difference is that the later kit (with the riveted turret) does not include the engine compartment.

I like the idea of the interiors being provided separately as they are now doing with the M3A3. Gives you the option. Personally, I love interiors, so I will probably get a few of these sets and use some of the (applicable!) interior parts to update Tamiya's Bradleys :-)

Or, even better, Meng could also release the older version of Bradley (M2A2 / M2A2ODS, M3A2 and the even earlier M2/M3's) - with interiors of course (separate interior is fine :-) ).

Please Meng!

Thanks, Gents, for clarifying. I prefer an interior for all sorts of reasons, and don't mind the interior being sold separately-- as long as it doesn't significantly inflate the price over the previous "all-in-one" Bradley kit.

I'm sure that Meng's thought process also includes the fact that the Orochi M3A3 does not include an interior. By offering their interior separately, they will also potentially gain some purchasers who might want to adapt the interior set to the Orochi kit.

This is great news. I like the idea of the separate interior too. I hope they continue with their Bradley series. This one has a few parts that can be used to make an earlier M2A2/M3A2 version; notably the rear stowage boxes and lower side armor with complete lower plates including the foot hold loops. These were missing from the M2A3 kit.

Meng might not give you the engine in their riveted turret, but you get a nice section of injection molded trench wall wit extra goodies.

If I'm not mistaken, the M3A3 interior layout is different from the M2A3 - it has only a couple of seats on one side and a rack for the TOWS ammo on the other side. You can't put it in a M2A3 kit...

It clearly states that on the box.... It is for a M3A3.

I for one do`nt mind the idea of a separate interior, selling this as a stand alone means i wont have to buy two kits or an expensive A/M set to get parts for other kits.
I still agree with Bill`s post though,if it doubles the cost of the Bradley kit i`d seriously have to consider cost.

Well, that answers the price question.. the price of both kits is basically the same as the price of their first Bradley w/interior. Two thumbs up for MENG.. both for their imagination and their pricing

Meng's pricing has always been more than fair (at least when ordering from HK), I expected them to be reasonable even in this case. Excellent! :-)

Its around 55$ CDN for the pair of kits, throw in shipping and you're looking at about 70-75$. Not half bad considering that when new kits make it to Canada(6months- year after they are released) they start at around 80$+ for just the Bradley kit probably 50$ for the interior and that's not including taxes.

I feel bad sending my money to overseas companies, but as a poor university student when purchasing models, I like to get the best bang for my buck.

I remember asking this question before, but I just couldn't find the thread with the answer, so here goes again... Now that MENG will be releasing the interior with the engine alone, what other vehicles use this engine (or something close enough to it)? Just wondering if it can be used to detail other kits... $18 is less than what some resin engine kits cost

Hi Hisham

AFAIK the AAV series uses the same engine (Cummins VTA-903T) along with oother components like the running gear...

Thanks for the info, Henri-Pierre! I wonder if I can get MENG's engine to fit into the HobbyBoss kit? It'll make an interesting project
