I was intrigued when I say Kurt's posts of the WIP. The finished product is really great. The exposed pair of boots give it a very subtle creepy feeling, but in a cool, solemn sort of way. I really like this.

The diorama is eerie and subtle. A quite scene with so much to tell, engrossing work.

Hi Kurt,
Good to see this up as a feature, an excellent build which I enjoyed watching develop a lot. I think you captured the concept beautifully.
Cheers

Very impressive!
You can feel the silence but in your inner ear you hear the battle.
Great work!!
With great respect, Steffen

Well, much as it pains me to say it after your team beat mine in the World Cup, superb. More imagination than a dozen conventional dioramas. And the execution is flawless.
I assumed you scratch-built most of it, but to see how you re-purposed so many OOB items makes it even more impressive.
Alas, you spent Euros on converting the tank when we can't really see the fruits of that labor.

Hello guys ,
first of all , thank you Darren for creating the feature .
Thanks for the visit and kind words gentlemen !
@ Mark , yes those pair of boots and helmets .... well to be straight they are remnants of the fallen . I thought a lot about this issue how to present it in a proper way without upsetting anyone. So i came up with this idea .I'm glad you like it.
@ Bryan , much appreciated !
@ Alan , thanks a lot for the suggestion and also the support and your thoughts during the build.
@ Steffen , you're absolutely right what a nice way to describe the scene . A big thank you for your respect !
@ Bill , well i'm sorry that my team have ruined your day when they have made my day .I can understand the disappointment very well .
Be proud of the American soccer team , they were brave . Oh boy that's the last thing you can say. I enjoyed the game very well , one of the best soccer games i've ever seen . Really it had everything to make it a good game ....respect for each other ,nice organization on both teams , teamspirit ,climax and anticlimax. And Jurgen Klinsmann is doing a great job on the American team. Be patience , the glory times will raise for sure !
Belgium will always be the little brother of the USA.
the next time i'll post more about how i made it . That's a promise ! Thanks Bill.
@ Nick , heyyyyyyyyy.....my fellow bold mad crazy funny modeling scientist . Okay , you put the pressure on me ha ??? Well let me tell you something .....it's SUMMERTIME , meaning a lot of days full of sunshine . So i'm mister sunshine right now ! Be patience those popcorn updates will come soon. So you better stay tuned ! Thanks Nick for the support and kind words man , really appreciated !
@ mike , [quote]But oh when he does -- BAM!!![quote] that happend to me yesterday in the early morning while rolling over in the bed trying to knock off that irritating sound of the alarm on my clock radio.....my head still hurts but i'm fine . Thanks for the comment.
Cheers

Hi Kurt, great job. I like the diorama and the story as well. This is something not conventional. And the trench is so realistic. Great !

Hello Giovanni ,
thanks for the visit and yes it's not a conventional diorama but you can make anything with a lot of inspiration . And i'm clearly not the only modeler on this forum who thinks that way .
Thanks for the compliment !
Cheers

very amazing diorama; excellent work! a lot of people don't realize it was many years till some of the WW1 fields were cleared; even today human remains and equipment, ammo, etc. still turn up near the Somme, Verdun, etc. very good work

Thanks guys for looking in ,still today people are dying mostly farmers in an explosion when they are plowing their land .
It is a sad legacy of the Great War..
Let's hope that a mass slaughter of young people on such a large scale never occurs in the future......but sadly mankind is destined to forget the lessons from the past, thanks again Brian.
Thanks Romain for the support and your eagle eye during the whole build . Much appreciated m8 !
Cheers
