Does anyone has TB 43-0166
Color, Marking, and Camouflage Pattern Painting of Improved Hawk Guided Missile System Ground Support Equipment (Improved Hawk Air Defense Guided Missile System)(August 1977)
I would like to have drawings of the PAR-radar and launcher to paint my Revell Hawk missile.

Hi;
The Standard NATO three color sceme would apply too all the Ground Support equipment, and Both Radar sets.
CHEERS; MIKE.

NATO scheme didn't exist in 1977, which is the time frame he's looking for.

If you Google "Hawk missile image" you can find a few pictures in camo. It seems the majority were painted solid colors, though.

I was going to say that I had only seen the missiles in Dark Green with the launchers & GSE in OD/MRDEC/Nato-flague

Hi;
NATO three color scemes were common in the other members of NATO, the USA normal sceme during that time period was the MERDC sceme. And camo's were not common on SA units, esp; on the Missiles themselves ! And remember we were not the only Country that used HAWK Missile Batteries.
As far as the Missile is concerned they were all one color, the most common were all Green with A Black Nose Cone. And they could also bee seen in all White which was rare. While Stationed in Taiwan, the HAWK Batteries were always Hid under Camo, and even the Missile were camo, Painted.

I was in 3/1 ADA at Ft. Hood for a short time in the late 80's. Our hawk stuff was a real eclectic mix of desert MERDC, NATO 3-tone, solid green and solid sand. We moved as a unit from Ft. Bliss and were in a constant state of upgrade. So I guess you can use any scheme and be correct

Looks like there were fitted with stock 9.00 x 20 nondirectional tread tires like the M35 truck series.

Yeah, but if this is the old Revell kit from the '60's, isn't it in 1/40 scale?

I’m not at home right now, but I’ve got photocopies of the NATO camo you need. I’ve had them since the 80s when a buddy in the Marines copied them for me from a TM. Been years since I looked at them. If I can find them I’ll post them for you.

Hi,
if you haven't decided which nationality you HAWK will be, have a look at my site in the section Real Ones, you'll find some pics of the launcher (page 1) and the associated radars (page 2) in three-tone camo in French service.
This is the PIP3 version before it was phased out. This is all my knowledge about this system so I can't tell you if it has visual differences with the Revell kit.
