Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the two kinetic rg 31 kits? Are they the same except for their armament, are the parts for the earlier us version included with the canadian version, etc...

Hi Michael
The Canadian version kit has the parts for the different side windows for the rear where the crew sits and the different driver/co-driver side windows but it also includes the US style frames for both as well. The clear parts are for the Canadian version only which don't have the pistol ports on the rear side windows. As well, there are sprues for the Candian RWS although only the .50 cal is included. There aren't any of the parts for the U.S. style turret included either, those parts are only in the US kit version. In other words, you can't make a US style vehicle from the Canadian kit nor a Canadian style one from the US kit right out of the box. Conversions would be necessary.

Thanks Bob.
Other than the RWS, is there anything about the Canadian version that makes it specifically Canadian? Like would adding a CROWS 2 make it work as a US vehicle?

The RWS and the windows are the only things I see, but again, the parts are included for the US version windows, but the glass doesn't have holes for the side pistol ports. There are parts for he Canadian version of the rear door but as far as I can see, the US ones are there too. There's some other minor stuff like the antenna bases, the Canadian T antennas that you wouldn't use. The interior has the gunners position with the joystick and the display for the M151 RWS. I'm not sure if this would be approrpriate for a CROWS 2 set-up. Did the US versions mount a CROWS 2?

Not on the rg31 mk3, but quite normal on the mk5. Kinetic will release it sometime soon.
