Hi Darren,
the Iltis it´s not a Canadian vehicle. German Bundeswehr used the Volkswagen Iltis in the 1970`s as a replacement for the DKW Munga jeep. After the production ended in th 1980`s, Volkswagen sold the entire plant with all tools to Bombardier. So the Iltis became the standard liason vehicle of the Canadian until it got replaced by the Mercedes G truck.

To clarify the VW Iltis is shown performing many different roles with the Canadian Army.
