Hi Everybody;

While Surfing e-bay I spoted the New TOS-1A from Trumpeter, its the first time that I have seen it for Purchase. It was listed for 67.00 & 13.00 for shipping, now I for one think its A Little Steep at just under 80.00$ USD But I Guess its about the Going Rate for Trumpy, These Days. Altho I think that I am going too Wait about A Year and then see How Much it is, from looking at some of the Spru Shots it looks pretty nice. Now the only thing I need is the T-72 Based Re-Supply Vehicle too go along with it.

I want one too! But I'm with you, Mike - I think I'll wait a bit. There are plenty of other vehicles on my wish list, to keep me busy for a while.
The TOS-1 is an awesome weapon. Anyone know where and when it's been used in combat?
Check out this video - I think it shows Mike's resupply vehicle racing to the battlefield alongside the TOS-1.

Hi Guys;

The Video is Great; thanks JP, the vehicle seen in the first part of the video is A BMOT APC, that carries Support Personnel. And the Re-supply vehicle can be seen also, when its seen it looks like A Turret less T-72 that has Two upside down Boats on either side of the Hull and has A Jib-crane in-between. The BMOT is available in 1/72, if you build Micro Machines, but I am hoping that somebody will make it in 1/35 along with the Re-supply Vehicle !
I know---Wishful thinking

The TOS-1 has seen action in Chechnya. But I would say it aws the early version of it not the one depicted in the Trumpeter kit which is the more recent one.

I agree with you Gary, the resupply vehicle would be a great addition to the Trumpeter list.

Trumpeter's prices have gone through the roof.

Talking about the European market, long time ago Trumpeter 1/35 armour kits were around 15 euros, then around 25/30 euros for some time, then 30/35 last two/three years and just recently they went up to between 50 and 65 euros for some kits, this is crazy!

I think this price increase is a worldwide phenomenon, and getting kits from China/Hong Kong doesn't make much of a difference in Europe (unlike for Dragon/Tamiya/AFV Club).

Cheers,

Christophe

First operational use of the TOS-1 was in the Panshir Valley in 1988/1989.

I don't think the A model has seen combat yet, but the early model was used in Afghanistan and Chechnya.

Hi Guys;

One of my Many Grand Scemes has always been too make A Road Convoy Dio, of Vehicles in 1/35! I have always liked the Pictures of Vehicles Strung out along a road stoped too take a Break, so my idea is too start with a 8x12 sheet of plywood and start from there. Now if its a road sceme then it does not have too be heavy on Buildings and such, only just some Trees and Scrubs etc; o.k. so my idea is four T0s-1s mixed with some MTLBs,krav trucks,UAV jeeps. The Majority of these vehicles I already have in my Stash, so the only thing left is just the TOS-1s. In Lew of the TOS-1s would maybe be four 2S3 Acacias, now Bare with Me this is just Early in the Planning Stages. So as of rite now I have 23 vehicles and approx.; 36 figures, all of which I already have in my stash except for the Main Four vehicles. There are several pictures on the net that I am thinking about trying too copy in my effort ! Now I could make this real easy if I was Modeling in 1/72, but I only make 1/35 scale vehicles ! This Undertaking when Finally done is going into A Military Museum hear in my area, now the thought of using the TOS-1 was really appealing, but not having the other Support Vehicles for the TOS-1 is the Major Sticking Point for not using them.

This kit was in my LHS yesterday for $80. A bit steep. I have not seen it on Hobby link Japan or Luckymodel yet.

The TOS-1 24 barrel MLRS has arrived in the UK,on a popular british website,the cost is a little shy of £50, which is about the going rate for new shiny kits these days, i did pick up a MENG BMPT terminator last week for £35 at a local show and saved around £5 (depending who you got to)

Trumpy do produce good and detailed kits, but i can only imagine the add -on kits which will appear in the coming weeks..

The first-out-of-the-gate prices on Ebay are always high, sort of a tax on the "Gotta Get It Now!" crowd. I have found that the best prices for US buyers on Trumpeter and Hobby Boss on the planet are from Squadron. Their prices are low to begin with, and if you can wait until one of their frequent sales you can get them for less than Lucky Model or Hobby Easy.

Well....I got my T-90 a bit ago and upgrades haven't hit the US distributors yet....
the TOS-1A and BMPT are less mainstream...

I might have to get my PE direct, even though my local B&M store is gone ...I 'wistfully' want to support a middleman in my country...(at least )

((not sure I want all my corn to be only one type of GMO ))

(((not sure I want all my models to only come direct, only;
seems that too many Original Manufactures would come and go ..with no underlying sustainable source and/or interest stream/flow))))

Just saw it listed for pre-order on HobbyEasy for $52.39+ shipping with a release date of 10/3/2014. Still a bit pricey though. First I've seen it there.
