Hi Guys,
So I am trying to apply filters but I have read it works better on matt surface, although some other say it should be satin? What is your opinion?
Filters maybe work better on matt, but the decals should go on satin or gloss, aren't they?
I am using Mr. Hobby Aqueous for the base paint.
Thank you!

If it's any help, I have only applied filters over a satin surface and never had a problem with the way it looked. In fact, I base coat with matt paints and then apply a satin varnish over the base coat to protect it. Once I apply the varnish, I then apply any decals needed and then the filters. This way the decals get weathered at the same time the rest of the model does. After the filter, of course, you do all other weathering steps desired.
