In my humble opinion, having a photo spread of each model would be better. Going by one photo does not do justice for each modeller. Like that Tiger I for example, that picture is too far away to get a good look at the detail the modeller has put into it. Let us see all the pictures you guys see..so we can vote on the same level as you Armorarma staff do...if not...it seem's you guys are only giving us a view of what you want us to see...almost steering us into your own opinionated vote. Almost a conspiracy lol....if you reply by saying "it would take too much time"...my response would be..."Make time"...each modeller has put the time in & they have every right to be in the spotlight individually as the next guy.
Unless I am wrong & only one photo is needed to enter? Then that in itself is a problem. Let's face it...top prize is pretty cool, a new kit from Dragon, which is not "cheap".
I honestly believe there are alot of great modeller's registered with Armorama . I have seen so many great pieces in the forums.

The picture used has nothing to do with Keith or Armorama as it is dictated by the author of the entry. as regards showing more pictures; that is not possible as the voting system only accommadates one entry.

Exactly! The person who submits the images tells Keith which one should be used for voting purpose.

Wow..that sucks. Why bother entering? The whole set up is ph**ed up.
I mean, I would love to enter..I suck at this modelling but I know I will get better..but my chances...of even getting "my total work portfolio viewed by the members" is limited by this "voting system. Hell with that..when I enter a contest that I am passionate about..I would want "all" my work viewed by "all" members....so my work would be in a spotlight like everyone elses. The best answer is to revamp the voting system..or...add a link to each model & have every photo available to be viewed before casting a vote.
Some people just don't give a sh*t about how things are run in a contest, but I happen to "care"...as a member, I am not given the right to view "all" submitted work by each modeller ..so I can cast my "vote". A vote that has meaning...
With that siad..now you have modeller's out there that know the flaw to your system...who will take advantage of that & be repeat winners. I never read your rules to this but I hope you have something in place to avoid this?
PS- today is my birthday ha..ha..I vote I have another beer & get my Bronco Panzerkampfwagen | Ausf. F (VK18.01) started. Cheer's.

Well you have never entered and so you would not know.
The members that do enter want to display their work and have the chance of winning a prize. After the vote a large number of the entries are used as photo features and so further highlighting that members work. A reasonable number of people who have excelled in the past have been asked to provide features for magazines, and so that is another fringe benefit.

Why bother entering any competition? You want a prize or other kind of reward. And you always enter using the rules available.

Shoot, I'm happy just to get an occasional pat on the back ... and as my blogs get bumped further and further down into oblivion, I am reminded that I need to improve my skills. Just viewing DMOM inspires me to do so. Keep it going guys!

Florian Mandau entered the Panther F last year and won the Armorama Model of the Year for 2013:
