Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of a reference to what commander turret hatches looked like on M3 Lees used in Burma. Some looked pretty standard but others were missing the top ring and that what i'm looking for is some info of the alternate turret hatch.

A lot of pics I"ve seen of M3's in Burma show the cupola removed. In it's place, it looks like the split hatch found on early Shermans like these

It was definitely not a sherman split hatch, diameters were different, and the outer ring looks more angular than the quarter pipe section of sherman hatch ring. I'd rather think a hatch from M3 Grant's turret would be a closer shot.
