These dudes look old-school. I'd say sometime in the 1990s.

First off, nice figures, the detail is admirable and it's nice to see someone tackling modern U.S. Navy SEALs again. These figures don't look as "flat" as the plastic ones.

Yes, the period of the Blackdog SEALs is 1990s. If you want modern 1/35 SEALs, try Airborne Miniatures.

A few notes: The SEALs carry the M4A1 now because the MP5s lack the penetration power. SEALs don't usually wear the Pro-tech helmet ever since the Delta Force operator got shot in the head and died wearing one in the 1993 Somalia operation. The Pro-tech offers no ballistic protection.

The SOMAV vest is a huge rarity now, if not obsolete. A 1996 SEAL book said that so few SOMAVs were made in the 1990s that it's doubtful all SEALs would have one and doubtful that many survived wear and tear to 1996, let alone 2014.

It's a pretty nice set for the 1990s, just that it would be very hard to get it past Y2K.

The setting for these SEALs would normally be ship or oil rig assault, and yes, they could also pass for SEALs on training.

They'd pair up pretty nice with the Dragon 3017 Navy SEALs.

Thank you Jeff and Peter for informations.

Italian special forces Col Moschin wore this helmet in the first years of their operations in Afghanistan !

The Pro-Tech helmet now has ballistic protection, designed actually after the 1993 Somalia raid. So there is a Pro-Tech with roughly the same design but a Kevlar shell.

It's a shame the poses aren't a bit more dynamic as two look almost the same as the Dragon SEALs...! But hey always thankful for some new moderns.
