Awesome review, thank you! I have been waiting for WWI quality stuff a very long time. Figures look great and facial expressions are great.

great review ,I hope they come out with the unmotorized version. As usual with Tamiya ,this one is way too expensive

Really? LM show the price as USD 56.99 or £34.46 which would seems a very reasonable price and on par with many other kits of this size.

I notice that when people quote low prices from Chinese and Japanese on-line shops, they always ignore the shipping price. In this case it's $18.35 US, for a total of $75.35. The LHS has prices starting around there because they have to include the shipping rates they had to pay, plus profits.

I don't see why not as it has both nylon and plastic running gear so just use the plastic parts and leave out the motor.
I'm motorizing at least one of mine though as I look forward to seeing a little MKIV trundling at scale speed across the floor.

And how a $57 Price is not on the expensive side?
Its not only a matter of size -that's what she said
- but of parts count, detail, add-ons -lets say PE or metal barrels- and shape complexity.This case does not seem either of those
I like the monster, but still think it is quite pricey

The question related to the cost of the kit, if you buy from abroad then there will be shipping charges - take you pick, but this is no more expensive than the average 1/35 scale tank, in fact cheaper in my view.

I'm glad Tamiya went with their usual style tank box art too. I like that type of painting Tamiya's used since the 70s.

Alan where is LM ? I've seen this model as high as $84 ( I believe 50 pounds ) and the lowest is $70. and all the sites are in Europe or Japan. So I have to add on a lot of shipping and handling charges. So I'm hoping they come out with a non motorized version.

thanks for that, been waiting for you to do a review,as usual ,very good,moulding looks great,just going to have to wait and see if they release it as a static kit,mind you i can see the female coming next again motorised,just don't understand why tamiya have made it into a toy, all be it a good looking one,just can't justify the cost to build it as static,figures look well done.

You can built her as a static version simply leaving off motor and transmission.
In the box you can find also the standard plastic drive and idler wheels as parts A10, A11, A13, A15 and A16 (instruction put them as not used parts).
The problem is that is not clear how to join wheel to main body because I think some parts lack from the kit.
In my opinion the best way is to use the metal drive wheel and make a new axle for the plastic idler one (A11, A15) if you want to reproduce a tank with a n exposed wheel as cleary visible in some pictures.
In my opinion the presence of plastic wheel means tha Tamiya planned a no motorised kit (possibly a Female?). This doesn't mean they will put it on production as their Challenger II which has some parts for the Europen version never gone on production.
