Would anyone have any ideas or suggestions for clear covers for 54mm - 75mm figures? Preferences would be that they be 4 - 6 inches in height, and 4 - 6 inches in diameter; cylindrical with a domed top; and be clear plastic or glass. Bases are optional as round wooden bases are available from craft shops and import nick-nack shops. Origin and purpose of the covers is immaterial as long as they work for the intended purpose.

Places like AMAZON have different sizes of glass doll domes with wooden bases for various prices. Some of the smaller ones should be about right. They have some that are in the size range you are looking for.
Hope that helps,
Randy

Thanks. I should have said one of my preferences was super-economical, but I will take a look at these.

Doesn't have to be Amazon, either; collectingwarehouse.com has a 4"x7" one for $11.92 in 12+ quantities. If you're willing to do some of the work yourself, nicetoys.com has 4"x7" glass domes without bases for $4.39 each

Have you checked out Trumpeter? They do a lot of different display cases. I picked up a few off ebay.

Did you say super economical?"
There used to be a kit offered on television for turning jars and bottles into other useful items. But you don't even need that...
Take your glass cutter, secure it at the height you want, and rotate a jar (upside down) next to it until you have scribed a line around it a few times. Tap the rim and it will fall right off. Hit it with some emery paper to smooth it out.
I have just looked at the collection of glass jars I have and found several that will work, ie no funky looking bottoms that will become the top of your cover.
It won't look as ghetto as it sounds if you find the right kind of jars.
As an aside, A German I met showed be a trick in Afghanistan - take a small coin (seems to me it was Euro related, at any rate it must have a sharp edge) and spin it around the bottom of a beer bottle for about half a minute. Tap the bottom of the bottle on the bar and - viola! The bottom falls off, with a very neat cut line.

Did you actually see the cost? Over $30 including the shipping which is 2X the item cost! I did say "super econo . I wasn't neccessarily looking for purpose made items as they are always expensive. I'm looking for something cheap that will double as a figure cover. I was looking for something I could find locally, in a store, take home and reuse as a figure cover. Anyway, I've found a dealer in the US that have a variety of clear plastic domed covers that are ideal at an excellent price and shipping drops drastically with multiple orders.

Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and buy a sheet of plexiglass , you can cut and glue them to size .

Brain flash: or I could buy a bunch of cheap drinking glasses and turn them upside down - but they would still look like upside-down drinking glasses.
