Aloha everyone!!!!
Getting ready to go to painting on my Hobby Boss RSOV and I was just wondering was this vehicle--as its acronym points out--just made for the Rangers or has this variant indeed been exported.
Thank you in advance!!!

I believe it was just made for the Rangers. It's no longer in service as the GMV replaced it several years ago.
The RSOV was meant to ferry Rangers and heavy weapons to the assault area and drop them off. It wasn't really intended as a Fast Attack Vehicle. I believe it lacks the cargo carrying capacity of the GMV.

The only other variant is the one in private hands. It is the Ricardo Demonstrator and this vehicle is actually the one that Hobby Boss used to produce the RSOV. The few photos of the RSOV show a smaller plate for the weapons ring.
The RSOV was chosen as it would fit inside helicopters where the GMV had to be underslung.
Regards
Brian

I believe there are original vehicle built in 1992 for US Ranger Regiment, looks like this:

And then in 1993, was built a british version with different seats and front boxes and other differences, like this:

The GMV could fit inside a MH-47 Chinook. It's a tight squeeze, but it can fit.
