Greetings
I mainly use LIFECOLOR and AK Interactive paints. Both spray very well using the airbrush, but when hand painting their coverage is very thin and require a few coats for an even coverage of colour.
Is there a way to thicken the paint a tad for handbrushing ?
Thank You, Iain

Hi Iain
you have answered your own question!
Life colour are a fantastic pint but like all acrylic there covering ability is tricky when brushing and need a couple of coats to build up coverage.
The way I get around this is a light coat thinned with water first will give you a good base to cover with life colour straight out the bottle.
If you really want to thicken the paint lifecolour make a thickening agent although you only need a microscopic amount to thicken say half a jar of life colour.

Thanks 'spoons' I'll try the first coat watered down a tad. I didn't know about the thickener, Iain

I have thickened house hold acrylic paint using talc, but it will also make gloss colours matt.
