Hi there, I want to show you my interpretation of Ernst Barkmanns panther tank No. 424 from the battle around Saint Lo.
I have used the Dragon Cyber Hobby kit 6524, a set of Friul tracks (Panther late), an MG barrel from Schatton for the Kugelblende, an RB models MG barrel for the mantlet and homemade zimmerit for the tank.
Here we go then:
The start:
The reason for the Friuls, the rubber band tracks don't fit and have bent guide horns too
Masking off for the homemade zimmerit
the fun begins
the tools, also homemade
Just to cool
More of the build including PE
Oh it don't fit, now that is a surprise
She's got her boots on and almost ready to march off
Broken down for priming, I always use Revell 08 anthracite for this job.
Chemical treatment as a starter for the tracks
A mix of Humbrols for the dunkelgelb
Another mix of humbrols for the green and redbrown
Watch lads the next parts that don't line up
Gloss and Archer fine scale transfers
AK wash for DAK vehicles
A light dry brush with Humbrol buff
some more dry brushing and tools added
A light sooting of the muzzle brake and exhausts
Some dried roots painted with MIG wash for Darkyellow paint
Spare tracks
Roots covered with "Noch" classic flock and turf flock
Thats it for now, I shall soon start work on the base. This will be a simple offering, but exactly how it is going to be I don't yet know.
Hope you like my interpretation of Panther 424.
Paul

It looks fantastic; your tools did a fantastic job as well.
The zimmerit does have quite a texture though, just my thought.
Looking forward to seeing the base.

Ace! I like your camo job. Chemical etching the metal tracks, the right way to paint metal! Good job.
