I just finished my M-88. (Haven't posted picks yet, but will do so in a day or so). Does anyone know where I can get or if one exists of the device attached to the boom of the M-88 to pull engines out of tanks. Just out of curiousity, is there a complete engine compartment/motor aftermarket kit available for the M-48 or M-60?

AEF Designs makes an M48/M60 pack, can't comment yet on how good it is, but it looks pretty sweet. Happy New Year!

The device that attached to the pack was a T shaped device with two chains and hooks at each end of the T . The T had a Hook attachment on top that had 3 holes in it to allow a center of gravity shift for different types of engines.

I've got some shots of a pack sling in the motor pool. I've got two types at work, the type for an M88 and the type for an M1.
Model Valley makes an M60A3 engine and Verlinden makes an M60A1 engine. Both sets come with engine bay components and are designed to be displayed out of the vehicle. The Verlinden set gives some guidance on how to display the engine inside the hull.
Legend Productions makes both an M48A3 and M60A3 engine set. I've seen them at my local hobby shop and the photo of the engine/bay looked good, but that is all I know about those two items.

The M-60 engine in resin is close, but for a great dio, there are a few things it needs.
The 2 exhaust elbows w/flapper valves arent shown,I don't know if these are in the box,I havent bought one.And there is a heat sheild, which the exhausts protrude through, and are capped by the "flapper" sections. This would cover the transmission, and would be removed before lifting out the engine.

Thanks guys. Seems to be plenty of kits available for the engine and none for the sling...strange. So Ron if you can send me a photo or 4 I'll look to see if I can scratch one. I'm looking to do something that would feature either a Nam 48 or a late 70's M-60 a 1. We used to do quarterlys on the beasts down at the Baumholder washrack so I 'm thinking of doing something like that to go with some pictures I took of my platoon doing it.
