Hi Gang;
I got today Mengs Achzarit Early. I noticed that the sprue "T" contains 8 armor glass blocks. This might be an indication for the "Aquarium" armor used on later Achzarit. Keep your fingers crossed.

Another indication: there are 4 locations on the top hull sides that have to be removed according to Meng instructions. These locations or for the hook for the towing cable on a late model.
Also the sprockets and road wheels are on one sprue while the idler wheels are on another. They simply have to include new sprockets and roadwheels plus a Merkava track.

Also, if you are going to do a 'late' cruel lady, as a detail, there is a glass block in the clam shell door the same size. If you want one, let me know; I've three cruel ladys (kits that is), and can spare the blocks.
I've prepared a list of details I've added on each as I've gone, a sort of tweeks list if you will; I can post it if you're interested.
best regards,
Kylie
oh, for a true late, you'd need the Samson 50cal RCWS, Centurion wheels, and a doghouse over the commander's hatch, preferably the 6 window one.

Hi Kylie,
I got this week the Desert Eagle book on Achzarit. First I have to finish my "Early" model. I will try to confirm my guess by contacting Meng later. I just ordered A.E.F. Designs interior. Later I plan to do a "Late" model and maybe an ambulance. But first I have to iron some flaws in the Meng kit.
Thanks anyway.

Curious from who did you order the AEF interiot. I have been looking on-line and not found it anywhere. No luck on e-Bay. HobbyEasy lists it as out of stock. I have also found many references to AEF being out of business. Any help greatfully appreciated

I believe that AEF Designs are no longer trading. The website was AEF Designs.

Voyager are producing an update photo etch set number PE 35624 for the Achzarit. It contains the octagonal turret the will accommodate the clear plastic glass from the Meng ACHZARIT KIT.
If you go the the Voyager web site and put Achzarit in the search box at the top of their page it will come up and you will see it for yourselves.
