Hi all
This is Hellers old Somua S35 in french colours.
The Somua were designed in 1936 and by the invasion in WWII over 400 had been built.
Concidered by some as the best tank at the outbrake of the war, it fell short of german tanks due to poor battlefield strategies.
The kit have Friultracks added, nothing else. The Somua shows it's age in soft details but fortunately it haven't got
many surface details.
The early french paintjobs were very colourful and I chose one with horisontal ribbons for this model.
Painted with Tamuya/Gunze/Humbrol and weathered with oil paints. The decals were salvaged from my stash,
the remaining markings were hand painted.
Au revoir
/Tomas

Very well done, looks great. I wish somebody would produce a newly tooled Somua. Now that we are seeing more French armor being produced, maybe it will happen.

And so we see how great an old Heller kit can look (I still have mine since years in my stash)
