Hi guys does anyone know of a 1/35 scale model or scale plans in any scale of the WW2 British 2lb anti tank gun.

These guns were used on CMP portee's by the Australian forces and other commonwealth nations as well.

Thanks

A company called Sovereign 2000 makes a kit of the 2pdr in resin. You'll find their web site here.

Steve Zaloga did a build and review of this in Military modelling magazine Vol.32 No.13(8/11 – 2002). Maybe somebody could scan it it for you. I will give it a read tomorrow and post a summary of it .... sorry I cant scan it!

ive not seen that magazine review, but military in scale said it was an excellent kit, but not for beginners, aparently it has some very delicate parts.

ive been thinking about getting one myself since i saw that review, but am waiting until ive got a bit more experience with resin, especially after i damaged my ram kangaroo cutting out the turret ring!

cheers

I am currently building this kit. It is indeed delicate and fiddly in places, but it is also beautifully cast. The gun shield alone is a work of art. I should have some in-progress shots tonight or by the weekend.

Here are two prelim pics. These just show the basic carriage. I haven't gotten to the gun itself yet, due to a busy work schedule:

For scale consideration, the keyboard it's sitting on is my laptop, not a full-size keyboard.

Hi Mr Roo,

MilMod also published 1/35 plans I think, I'll check some of the back issues I have, If I find anything I'll PM you.

I have the issue with the review of this kit, I'll see what I can do to scan & send. Be advised however my scanning skills are not overwhelming

Happy modelling

Excellent. I've been after a 2lb'er ATG for years now. It seems these guys don't have an Oceania distributor, hopefully someone good like "Firestorm" will one day. . . .or one of the major kit manufacturers did their own take on the 2lb'er!

If they want, we've got several 2lb AT Guns in our collection at the Memorial.
