There seems to be a lot of people using these terms. I would like to know what they mean. Sounds like some sort of model builders club?

Hi ShermiesRule, What they are , are a Campaign..RMG = Remember Market Garden and a Group Build..Cover up. You can check out the campaigns in the main menu to the left or go into the forums and read up about both in the campaign folder.

In a way ... thats what they are! The RMG is "remember market garden" which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year. A lot of guys are doing a group build on this subject and have a set start and finish date. Each person has to do a little research into the subject and make a model/dio/vignette from that battle.
Cover-up is a campaign where guys are building a dio/vignette of a vehicle or soldier(s) using a man-made or natural protection. It can be a gun emplacement, a bunker, a dug in tank etc, etc. Any era and any configuration. End date for this is 2004-02-01.
The idea behind both is to get people building and more importantly ... finishing. All finished work has to be photographed and sent in to the campaign or group-build leader before the end date. For more specific information on both check back through the threads in campaign forum and maybe the dio forum as well.
I believe there is still time to sign up and start one or both of these if you are still interested. Check the campaign link in the menu at the top left side. Most post progress of their work to get advice or bounce some ideas around. Its nice to be involved as its a good way to learn more of the historical background plus lots and lots of good modelling advice. Feel free to join either if you are interested.
There are more campaigns and group builds underway aswell. Check the campaign page in the menu. Good luck!

Thanks. I would do RMG (Remember Market Garden) as I am in the middle of a one right now. For those who read my post in the New Members Intro you can see I'm in it for the long long haul and not just a small single vehicle dio. Mine will be over 20 vehicle and 100 men when done. I expect many many years to go before I'm done.

Man - either you already have a lot of this done, or you REALLY work fast!

Remember - some of the very best dioramas and vignettes are the simplist... too often people equate "quanity with quality".... although I must admit, I tend towards larger dios myself. At any rate, we look forward to seeing your completed entry.

I've already invested 10 years into it. I also have a bunch of smaller dios: a burned out tank, simple re-arming scene. Even one where a dog is peeing on a staff car that a soldier just finished washing!! But I think this super dio is just my way of perpetual incompletion so I can justify bying more stuff yet never being done.
