Hi
I finally found some time to take pictures of my latest scratch build project, a 1/72 Belgian WW1 Minerva A/C. Started somewhere last winter and didn't expect it to get so far already now.
Fortunately for me, MINI WORLD has a superb Hotchkiss machinegun in their inventory, otherwise that would have been a tough job. The wheels came from a W↑D Lanchester A/C, suitable modified. Apart from this, everything else is homemade..
Thank for looking and please, feel free to comment.

Hi,

progress on my Minerva WW1 A/C has been steady. The engine has been painted and installed (it's hidden behind Tamiya tape right now) so I could start assembling all the other body parts.
Next stage : stowage boxes, lights and hatches..

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment

Extremely nice workmanship Marc, and a very interesting subject! What intrigued you to start this project?

Hi Kerry

Being a Belgian guy, I've a soft spot for the vehicles my army used and uses.My local modelling club has a competition going on right now for the best WW1 model, so the choice was rather limited...

Cheers

Well I for one am really looking forward to your progress. It's hard to realize that it's braille scale with all the nice detail you're putting into it.

Hi Guys

I finally found some time to take the next set pictures of this project. Painting and weathering has been a slow process. I tried my hand at the Black/White method and I'm very happy with the result. However, I'm not entirely satisfied with the weathering, in particular the scratches, maybe I'm too demanding in this scale?
The figures are almost ready too, some came from RetroTracks, the others are converted from Preiser.

Thanks for looking and please, give your comments on the weathering.

This is the vignette which I'd made for this vehicle and figures. The plants and grasses still have to be added. I'm not entirely happy with the water in the fountain (Nimix water), a layer of Vallejo Still Water hopefully will make it look more like the real thing.

Cheers

Marc

My scratch build 1/72 scale Minerva armoured car and vignette are finally ready (after two years!). During the opening months of WW1, some Belgian infantrymen, still clad in their Napoleonic looking uniforms, encounter, for the first time in their life, an Armoured car. Obviously, this bizarre vehicle immediately attracts a lot of attention.

Thanks for looking and please, give your comments.
