Hey guys, just out of curiosity, did the Stryker MGS see any combat action? I'm just asking for my curiosity. I've been getting all sorts of answers. If yes, may I ask where? Thanks again everyone.

There are some pics floating around of the M1128 in Afghanistan without the slat armor, as well. They did have the drivers protection kit and the belly armor, though.

Thanks for your help everyone.

@jwest21: would you happen to have any pictures of the MGS in Afghanistan without the slat armor? I have heard somewhere that all Strykers in theater needed to have slat armor before they leave the states. Thanks again

Here's one :

"U.S. Soldiers with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division break down a wall outside an Afghan army outpost in Arghandab, Afghanistan, Nov. 5, 2009" :

Thanks again for your help everyone.

@H.P.: Your picture is very interesting since it almost defies what everyone else is saying about the slat armor being required for front line action.

@jwest21: I got your pm. Thanks for your offer =D

Sorry for the late reply; I've been away from here for quite a while. My Battalion (4/9 In, 4/2 ID) Used it in Iraq 2007/2008 and again in 2009/2010. I was the C co MGS PSG for the first tour. We did use it in combat and had a few skirmishes. I'll see what kind of pics I can dig up and post for you.

Thank so very much!
... I'm trying to accurately make slat armor for the M1128..
and I'm searching for images of the unique 'hull to bar' connections. Especially where the slat curves outward. and the back doors.

I figured SOME aftermarket company would have released a set of slat for this by now

Hey =D, welcome back. Thanks for the photos; they were really detailed. Do you have any MGS photos without the slat armor though? The reasons I'm asking is mainly because I'm currently considering an MGS, but I don't want to buy the slat armor. Thanks again for your help and welcome back =D

Hey Samuel....I Google M1128 and tab "Images" get Thousands of images.... MOST don't have slat.

ALSO....try searching different Google domains......
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Google_domains

I had said thanks; because finding images With slat are harder to find.
