Word is out that TAMIYA will be releasing a DAIMLER Mk II scout car
and a French CHAR B1 Bis.
Both in 1:48 scale!
The Char is motorized.

I guess that the MK IV in 1:35 has fascinated some, so they
are now crossing over to 1:48.
They did have a series of tanks that were motorized, way back.
In any case, the Char B1 and the Dingo are most welcome in 1:48.

I knew the Char was 1/48. HLJ listed the dingo as 1/35. 1/48 makes more sense.

The Dingo Mk II is in 1/48 scale while the Char B1 bis is 1:35 with motor just like the Mark IV.
There's also a 1/35 Jagdpanzer IV (70) Lang coming.
Cheers.

In a thread over on Track48 the consensus seems to be that the Char is just a motorized version of the 1/35 kit. Too bad, I've been hoping Tamiya would scale it down just like they did with the Matilda, which was quite nice. Also wouldn't say no if they wanted to scale down their recent Ferdinand.

I agree that a Ferdinand and or Elefant would be most welcome.
They should also consider some prime movers which are
lacking in that scale.
Cheers,

Right on about the Elefant/Ferdinand: The Bandai kit is just a horrible mess with not ONE dimension correct even by FEET (especially the overall width)...
Jagdpanzer IV is another big absence.
Japanese/Italian tanks as well, and the usual Churchill/M3 half-track, proven list toppers perpetually ignored...
Softskins would be better than armored cars as well: There are quite enough armored cars by now... A civilian continental bus would be absolutely amazing... The Tamiya Russian truck was well done and not a bad idea, but Russian softskins are now comparatively quite plentiful, even when not counting the resin kits...

They have quite a line of 1/48 stuff that started coming out in 2006 none of it motorized, the more recent stuff did away with the metal lower hull and is really pretty goodlike the Marder,Jagdtiger,JS-2

I'd love to see more modern stuff in 1/48... M1A1, M60A1, M2...etc.
