One kit I have wanted to build for some time is the Strela. Unfortunately, the only manufacturer that produces one is Skif. I am hoping to see Trumpeter pick up the slack, on this one.

Matt, you're right I bet Trumpeter will release one or Tamyia.

I'm hoping, next year. I could also see AFV Club doing this one.

How bad is the Skif Strela? I know it probably has the awful two-part tracks, so I'd need a new set of tracks, at the very least.

My bet would be Trumpeter. A new MTLB for the base and the AA mount would basically be the same as on the BRDM (Gaskin) and that's a logical variation on their recent BRDM kits.

Trump will likely be first as they've already announced 2 MT-LB kits. The Skif kit is pretty bad BTW. It's a difficult kit to make look good.

Using the MT-LB as a base, I may be able to scratch build the launcher. I'll start looking for a paper model.

How does the launcher from Dragon's Gaskin stack up? I'm not having much luck finding a paper model. However, I have found a scratch build blog for the entire vehicle on Military Modeling.

You'll have to scratch build some big details to use Dragons launcher.

I thought that it would be easier to start with a base and add detail.

Well, I just started her construction of the tower, is for the time being. However, missile containers thrown into the market, because it is already practically finished.
Dragon set to build from?
This app is like if you do Tupolev from Boeing.
The first was the self-propelled version Sztrela-1, built BRDM-2 chassis.
The modern and Igla missiles at a time and the resulting device Sztrela-10, MTLB chassis. Sheltered disorder, major (longer rocket), the tower electrically operated, while the first Szrela 10-strong fully manual.
And this is just the operation.
Plastic Model point of view other than the tower itself.
The Sztrela-10 missile containers it may be taken in
The other is, You could use the fund Skif (from the first tower is too small, narrow).

After a total of eleven posts, on the twelfth post someone finally sees fit to post a photo of the vehicle in question. Thank You!

This is an educational site and while having absolutely NO idea what you were talking about, I was finally able to find the subject on a general web search. (Assuming you are not talking about the line of Russian wrist watches by the same name.)

I see no reason why someone would start a thread without also posting a photo of the vehicle in question so that we all might know what fish or foul you are wishing to talk about..

Now, now. No reason to be impolite. We like to encourage questions even if they have been asked 100 times...it can be hard to navigate the interwebs to find accurate info, and no one wants to look like a fool when asking a question.

That said, good info. So the platforms on each vehicle were different and not shared. I did not know this, though I admit I suspected it. Thanks for the education.

Juhász: Thank you for the information. I did not realize that there was such a difference in the towers. Back to the drawing board.

Here is my Skiff Strela. This is done 2008. Just sharing this as I myself is hoping for a new kit. Not the best construction but I'm happy of the results.

Val: Did you use kit supplied etch or an aftermarket set?

Matt, as far as I can recall there's not much etch part in this kit and besides the etch was so thick that it looks worst than not using it ( windshield armour). I have used Eduards interior and exterior etch to improve this kit and lots of scratch building. I started it way back 2006 and completed it late 2007.

I timed that request well. Nice interior detail. Maybe a Christmas release?
