Am I correct in that Academy is bringing out the IDF Achilles? If so, I have the number down as 35001. However, this does not jive with the current series of number they have ( e.g. 13002, etc.)
Thanks

Thanks. I am still curious about the number designation. Usually, HobbyLink Japan has them available via advanced sales. Have not seen anything yet.

DJ tis IDF achilles is a skip. all they do is give you the M51 tree . there is no modified breach gaurd frame or redone layout. check my webshots page for pics . if you have the original you'll be fine.

Josh-- I want to make sure I am following you. I have the British Achilles. What do I do, if anything, to get the IDF version?
thanks

Exterior wise close up the antennamount on the right side up forward. you'll need to change out the kit fenders for standard sherman type( see photos on my webshots page). crew served weapon was probably an.05 although depending on exactly when it was used it could also have mounted the .03. Interior wise below the turret ring I doubt there was much difference. in the turret however the right rear ready rounds were deleted in favor of a radio rack. other fittings like crew gear reflected IDF stadards of the period Uzis for personal weapons the Tc probably wore a british style pistol holder(ww2) teh biggest difference is teh ejction /recoil guard. I don't know if this was a Brit modification or IDF butcheck the aforementioned photos for detail. Lastly there are at least two engine deck types, the one at yafo has(for lack of better description) a larger protrusion on the right rear. AgainI don't know enough to tell you if this is aBrit modification or IDF. last of course ise the 4 smoke dischargers. Hope this helps. if you need more come to chat on any sunday at our MSN group build site. someone will probably know more. We have chat usually from 1300 to 1500 eastern time.
