Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I can scratch build the add on armor for a Dutch PzH2000 in Afghanistan? Or if I even need to scratch build the add on armor? I was thinking about possibly building a Dutch vehicle during Operation Medusa. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone

All the Afghanistan pics of Dutch PzH 2000 I've seen so far show them fitted with the add-on armor...
Like I've said in another thread you probably remember
, a German one without add-on armor would be an easier option...
EDIT : if you wish to stick to the Dutch option, you can build one as it appeared when loaded into a US Air Force C-17 cargo plane used to carry it to Afghanistan ( = without add-on armor)...

I think scratchbuilding a C-17 in 1/35 scale is a bigger challenge than building the Bombletpanzerung.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. The main reason for this post is mainly to see how people would scratch build the add on armor on the vehicle. And I was curious to see if there are any plain Dutch pzh 2000s out there in Afghanistan. sorry if I was being overly repetitive.

I don`t se why the Bombletapmzerung couldn`t be build from scratch. In my perspective, the "hairs" on the modules don`t matter in 1/35 scale. Cutting the modules in the right shape is the challenge without proper references.

There are some 1/35th scale drawings showing them in this book :

I think that Meng somehow used this drawing.
But if you want to build a Bundeswehr PzH2000 in firing position in AFG, another probloem occurs: The Firing Posoition made of HESCO Bastionelements! I check my my resources and came up with 15 elements long and 10 elements wide. Each wall is made of 2 elements high and 2 elements deep. On top of the sides are 5 elemntes extra. Makes roundabout 160 elememts = Very deep pockets!

Hi Alex,
there is only one version the PzH2000. Although there are the designations PzH2000 A1 and A2, there are no great changes in the vehicles. The designation A1 says that the vehicles have a new processor for the fire control system. A2 means only that the vehicles a equipped with the Bombletpanzerung (roof armor).

Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, but this is a Dutch PzH 2000 in Afghanistan, right? The reason I ask is because I can't seem to find any markings on there.
@HermannB, good thing I'm not putting my vehicle in a diorama then

Thanks everyone for your help.
