Hey all,
I've seen older answers to this some time ago, but wondered if there is any new advice out there. I have an AFV Club 1973 Shot Kal tank that has vinyl tires. Unfortunately, the way they have engineered the wheel/tire combo, the inside of part of the vinyl 'tire' is actually part of the wheel. Thus, this part of the vinyl 'tire' needs to be painted the same color as the wheel. I was tempted to follow some of the advice given here regarding the tire part, that is, not paint it, but rather just weather it with pigments. But I can't get away from the part of the vinyl that needs to be painted like the wheel. I prefer Tamyia acrylic paints. Any suggestions? Am I going to have a problem painting the vinyl with acrylic paint?

I've done quite a few large scale vinyl figures. You have to use acrylic paint on vinyl, enamels can attack the plastic or refuse to completely cure. If you want to use enamels you should use an acrylic primer first. Al
