Tom Cromwell reviews and builds the KPz.70 from Dragon, which he recently posted as a build log.

Good to know. Now my interest is piqued. If only it didn't cost so much...

I just decided that I will probably pass on this kit, even if I would very much like to have a Kpz 70 in the display cabinet ....

Yes - it's a pity most DML stuff is so expensive for what we get! But if you're not in a hurry it's worth shopping around on the web for bargains... (There are kits I've wanted for years but avoided due to price, only to find one going cheap at ebay.)

And Robin, I understand. There are some silly issues with this kit that really SHOULD have been sorted given the asking price. But I doubt we'll see an alternative anytime soon. Besides, it doesn't take too much effort to put right, compared to that dreadful M103!

I'm not really interested in this kit but it sounds like a bit of a turd for the asking price. I used to love Dragon kits in the early 90s when they were coming out with all the modern Soviet armor (even though many were pretty inaccurate). but now it seems like they're still producing kits no one else will touch and still building in plenty of accuracy problems.

I have one of those on order, should get it today or early next week. It was a Black Friday deal for around $35 or so : not too bad for a "not quite perfect" kit. Thanks a lot for the detailed review, this will be very useful in my build.

Cheers,

Christophe
