It took me a very long time to finally finish this model, but I managed to complete it this past weekend after three years. It's Trumpeter's kit with a few tweaks (correcting the T-bar and its mount, reshaping the butt-stock of the M240 to make it a little less toy-like, and adding straps on the hull side. I used Echelon's decals for an OIF vehicle and AFV Club's reflective periscope stickers. Let me know what you think.

Here are the straps I added:

And this is the rebuilt T-bar:

Very nice job and I think the weathering is very impressive. Are those the kit wheels or after market? As I have this kit in my stash, I hope to be able to produce something close to your efforts in the future.

Thanks, guys! The wheels are the kit vinyl ones. They are a bit of a pain, but worked OK in the end.

Excellent job, especially with the kit wheels! Brought back memories of seeing the -R on the ramp back in '03.

Your LAV looks great! Just a quick question; what made you paint it in overall NATO green? I thought they were all NATO camo (and some sand) back in '03. It makes it an interesting vehicle.

Actually in '03 you had all three flavors running around -- NATO, Sand and Green. At one point you had all 4 LAR Bn's in theater.

Keigan--thanks! As John noted, I found reference pics showing all three color schemes in theater, so I went with the one I liked the best, since I could not positively identify the ones I had pictures of.
