Very nice, just goes to show even a JS-2 can't do everything.

Very nice build! Technically.
But, please, do reconsider your dio since no tank commander would even try this. The way you present it would indicate the help of a crane to be positioned like this.

But the picture on the diorama base shows this.

Yeah!Right Thomas, but having worked since 1976 with armoured tracked vehicles I am pretty sure that a photo, taken seconds later, will show a stuck tank on some concrete tank stoppers! Unless they were made of USSR quality concrete. Than they certainly would collapse under the weight of the tank.
Nice propaganda, but no AFV commander would ever try it.

It would appear that the base photo may well be a deliberately staged propaganda piece. Possibly even an exaggerated museum display extolling superior communist engineering. The soviets were seldom known for subtlety. Who knows. Despite the obvious technical issues, it remains a visually interesting and unusual diorama. Nice.

OK- you convinced me. It seems to be a very striking propaganda picture.

Paul, the man has an historical photo and he has reproduced it excellently. Nothing more needs to be said.

I know when I saw this I was questioning the display option chosen, however when I saw the picture of the real vehicle, regardless of if it is staged or not, his diorama display option can be said to be accurate.
