Hi !!m:-)
You'we got one nice lookin' dio there PvtParts. Love the farmer figure and also the barrel, paintjob is real nice. On the 2nd picture, the grass behind the corner seems a bit to green, but that just may be the picture.
Anyway, i like it !! keep up the good work !!!!

Very good job painting the fig. The fabric highlights on the pants/shirt/jacket are really well done---the facial features and mustache are also very accomplished. The rack and spuds are all nice touches.
Good work here.

As always..Thanks for your comments and critics(sp?). Once all is done everything will be toned down with washes and drybrushings.

Absolutely stunning closeup i like it very much. I have one thing to notice that the bricks on the chipped wall seem absolutely purple (some of them) is it the photo or theyre really purple. Cause then how is this explained.
The painting job is very fine is it really 1/35 or 1/12 ?

Thanks again. Its 1/35th and the bricks are not actually purple, it could be the light. Welcom back Major and Happy New Year to ya!

Magazine rack scratch built,
Really nice work and a lovely lttle dio. I get the purple look on the bricks as well ..... thank God its not my computer going wonky! Eventhough I agree everything is amazing the woodworks stand out as exceptional. What kind of wood have you used? there seems to be a perfect grain running through it that would be a painters dream. Have you added to the grain yourself or is this natural? What is it?
Another thing is the colours of the potatoes ...... 100% perfect.

I agree with Plasticbattle, the woodwork is very nice, please describe your methods :-)
I would add some more magazines to the rack if you could as it looks slightly spartan at the moment.
Very nice figure as well,
Andrew

Man, love the figure. I can almost hear the grumpy old cuss yelling at me and telling me to get off of his grass.

further to my PM telling you I thought this was awesome I had a further look and thought why not drill little holes at the joints of the magazine rack and paint them as nails similar to what someone suggested to do on the fence!

Well, Thanks for the remarks all. I am very pleased with the way this dio is coming along. I think I will add some nail holes as Roo mentioned. As far as building the rack: It is made with coffee stir sticks that fell in my pocket when I was at the local 7-11. Some white glue to assemble it once I worked out the size. The first coat of paint was with MM wood # 4673. I followed that up with a thin wash of MM Burnt Umber #4605. There are more magazines to go on the rack but, not until the final shots.

PvtParts,
I'm with the others saying that there's something strange in the chipped bricks colour: in my view it's too purple (but it can be due to the picc/camera).
Another point, always in my view,is that there is too much contrast in the colours of the various walls that to me looks a bit unreal. Don't you think you should tone their tone a bit down?
For the rest I like it very much. What's the guy going to hold in his right hand (or is already holding)?
Ciao

P.S.: quite likely your clubmobile decals will be ready tomorrow...
