Okay, I just got an Aztek airbrush, and I'm going nuts! I am using the "Testors Airbrush Propellant", of which I have put the little screw-cap thing on there. It was going fine until I tried test-spraying. It gave out this HUGE amount of air from a little push. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure if you can change the pressure on a propellant can. Does your "screw thingy" let you lessen the amount that you have screwed it in? I don't really have a for sure answer, just a possibility. Sorry I'm not a huge help.

MEBM Which Aztec brush do you own? Most have a chrome adjustment wheel in the upper rear of the body. You may have that wide open. Let us know which one it is and we may be able to help you more I own 3 different ones and have no problems.

Now I don't own an Aztek AB myself, but I have enough experience to know that these things work themselves out. So don't panic. Once a member gets the right information I'm sure you'll get the answers you need. So take it easy man, relax!
Good Luck

when I was using the cans on my old Badger you could adjust the screw which opens the valve in the bottle. Also it tended to 'flow better if the bottle was sat in a bowl of 'warm' water to slightly heat the air.
hope you sort the problems out.

Having used those propellant cans in the past with my Pasche H airbrush I can tell you that you don't want to screw the thumb screw down all the way in the top of the can. I think what I used to do is screw it down all the way to make sure that the air was getting through and then back it off a few turns. The little cap that you put on the can should give you the ability to regulate the flow using the screw. It is not very scientific since there is no gauge, but a little adjusting before you attach the paint cup should get in the neighborhood. The only problem is that as you run out of air you will have to tighten the screw to maintain the pressure. Make sure you have a full can on hand at all times so you don't "run out of gas" in the middle of a painting session.
Good luck,

I am using a No. 9174, and I found out something else: Sometimes when you try to take the screw thingy off, it takes A LOT of air out while I get it out. Oh well, hey thanks, and any other help would very appreciated, you guys sure know how to help a guy. Thanks. Thanks for your time.

NO EXPERIENCE WITH AZTEC, BUT IS THERE A LITTLE RUBBER WASHER BETWEEN THE PROPELLANT CAN AND THE SCREW FIT CAP THAT HOLDS THE HOSE?
A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN I'VE FORGOTTEN THE WASHER OR ITS FALLEN OUT IN THE PROCESS OF SCREWING THE BOTTLE ON THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN VERY SIMILAR AS DESCRIBED.
WORTH CHECKING.
