On the M36B1s I believe the ammo was stored under the floor. My question is what equipment or stowage was put in place of the the sponson ammo racks? ALso, does anyone have pictures or know where I can look that would show the sponsons? Thanks.

Brent, the M36B1 did not store ammo rounds in the floor. It stored them in the same sponsons as the M4. The arrangment was a little different to accomodate the larger rounds. The indentations that was used for holding the M4's 75s were removed and the rounds were stacked and held in place with a retaining strap. The sponsons carried 18 rounds on each side, while 11 were stored in the turret. It was a very similar layout to the M10's.

Kencelot,
Thanks for the info and setting me straight. Not sure where I got so misinformed.
