Salutations all,
I am wondering what would be the best kit to use for the '1:35 Echelon Panzer III Ausf J 24th Pz.Div at the Battle of Stalingrad' set of decals? (Spruebros link - http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/ech351027.htm ). I looked at all the Dragon/cyberhobby Pz III J's but to my Pz. III noob eyes none of them quite match the decal profiles. Thanks
Cheers

Not sure your reservations. The tanks in the decal profile look pretty vanilla to me with the exception of the one in Dunkel Gelb which has the short 50mm barrel.

That is where I get confused. So far what I have found, the Dragon 'Ausf J' kits all have the short barrel. Then there is the engine covers which makes me think to get the Ausf J (TP) kit but it too has a short barrel. I have not found a long barreled 'Ausf J' unless you have to go aftermarket and I was just hoping for a simple out of the box. It is typical for me to have the kit but not the decals not to have the decals but not the kit.
Cheers

Thanks for the choices. That first choice is perfect however it seems to be a tad scarce (except the 1/72 version). So can your 2nd choice be built as a non-Befehlspanzer III J ? That one I seem to have a better chance of locating.

Try doing a LF query on the "Buy, Sell, Trade" Forum here. You'd be surprised how many of these are collecting dust in someone's stash.

I don't see why not. Unlike other Befehlspanzer, this one kept its gun. You just don't use the "star" antenna, and instead use a regular one. Check your historical sources to be sure.

As an epilog to this thread I found a "Cyber Hobby Pz.Kpfw Panzer III Ausf J Control Tank w Borgward IV Ausf B #6510".
SprueBros has it in stock. Not sure yet what I will do with the Borgward IV but I am sure I will find something.
Cheers
